IŽm so excited for the new Godzilla movie that I couldnŽt resist doing a quick piece of this awesome monster. Ok, back to work.

That purple/orange/black combo works so perfectly!

Here is a another colored version of the same image that youŽll probably find a lot more trippy than this one. www.flickr.com/photos/eldeivi/…

I like the yellow one but the purple highlights on this one really make it pop. Its the perfect final touch

At first I tried some dark green tones so I could get closer to his original color scheme, but for some reason it never felt right and started playing with other color posibilities that give me another sensation and a different atmosphere, blacks and purples seemed quite just the perfect choice for the king of monsters.
Thanks for your comments!

Always been a fan of old school Toho. Hated the Dean Devlin version, but the new movie has promise.  Cool depiction but he looks alot shorter than the new one is suppose to be.

I liked Dean DevlinŽs Godzilla a lot, in fact I own a big figure of it ( the movie was terrible tho ) I never was a big fan of the original but from what IŽve seen of this new Godzilla IŽm liking it more and more. I read somewhere he is going to be more like a type of Jaws monster, you are not going to see it all the time, and when you do youŽll see just his silluette or very little of him ( weŽll see ).

If I watch Dean Devlin's movie, I ignore the fact that it is suppose to be Godzilla and just think of it as some other monster and I enjoy it more. I can not say I hate that movie....its just not godzilla to me.

the newer godzillas (1990s and onward) are better that the ones of the 50's-70's. My friend back east is a HUGE Toho fan and even gets G-fan magazine. I hope we will see more than just glimpses of the king of the monsters. It better not be like Cloverfield

Cloverfield was a good excercice for a monster movie, but at the end all we really want is to see these huge monsters in their gigantic glory and not just watching them getting behind a building for a few seconds or catching a glipmse of their rampagin fury while you are running from them. After watching Pacific Rim I convinced myself that there was no point in watching a movie like Cloverfiled again because you never quite get to aprecciate the monster in full mode.
IŽm with you on getting to see Godzilla on the new movie for more than a few seconds, I really hope so.
One thing that really bothered me of the Devlin movie is that Godzilla never gets to catch that damn taxi, is just not believable at all that a monster that huge and fast canŽt destroy a freaking car in just a few seconds. But is an interesting perspective watching it as a monster movie and not a Godzilla one, I will always like the design tho.
There is Godzilla magazine??? I never hear of it before!

B-) (Cool)

Yeah, I think that taxi scene thing was done strictly for comedy. And I will agree that the design was cool.

the Godzilla mag is called G-fan. I have not read one in over 10 years so I am not even sure if they are still published. But I am sure you can get back issues somewhere.

Pacific Rim was...interesting. But they focused far to much on the human level and not as much on the monster level as I would like.

So that other one looks more demonic and end-of-the-world style because it looks more like hell or doom with the darker colors, but this one is nicer in my opinion because all of the color saturation makes it really intriguing and just much better. Adding blue and purple was really smart.

Just please tell me that the other one was one you made, and not copied, because it doesn't say "eldeivi", it says "David".
